LPC-S | NCC (Board Certified)
Meet Dr. Tritia M. Finley. She understands the unique pressures faced by high-achievers. At Elite Performance Counseling, PLLC (EPC), she goes beyond simply addressing anxiety, depression, and trauma—she empowers driven individuals to leverage these challenges as catalysts for profound personal growth. With over 12 years of experience as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Texas and a National Certified Counselor, Dr. Finley offers culturally sensitive counseling designed to equip you with the tools you need to thrive, both personally and professionally. Her unique blend of experience, from military service, academia, to entrepreneurial endeavors, infuses EPC with a dynamic and results-oriented approach.
Dr. Finley, founder of EPC and a respected LPC-Supervisor, brings a wealth of experience to her practice. Her background includes extensive training in diverse counseling philosophies, mediation, and somatic approaches to therapy. Prior to her counseling career, Dr. Finley honed her analytical skills during a distinguished 10-year career as an Air Force veteran and federal employee, developing promotion tests and conducting emotional intelligence assessments for military personnel. This diverse experience has given her a nuanced understanding of the pressures faced by those striving for excellence. This same drive and attention to detail permeates EPC, influencing the work of the other providers she supervises and ensuring a consistent standard of excellence throughout the practice.
But Dr. Finley’s commitment goes beyond individual success. She believes in the power of mentorship and uplifting future leaders. As a serial entrepreneur with a Doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision, she’s passionate about fostering the next generation of counselors, providing invaluable graduate-level internships at EPC. This focus on developing others stems from her deep belief in working towards something larger than herself. Her passion for empowering others is a hallmark of EPC’s culture, creating a supportive and collaborative environment for both clients and clinicians.
Dr. Finley remains at the forefront of her field as full-time faculty in the Counseling and Human Services Department at St. Mary’s University, where she brings a dynamic and engaging teaching style that is both rigorous and fun. She is known for inspiring students to discover their own authentic professional identities — their unique “swag” as future counselors — blending confidence, integrity, and clinical excellence. Beyond St. Mary’s, she has also shared her expertise as an adjunct faculty member at Texas A&M San Antonio, extending her influence across diverse academic communities.
Dr. Finley’s expertise is widely recognized. She has been a sought-after speaker at numerous events, including the Lackland Independent School District, San Antonio’s DreamWeek 2020, and Girls Inc. of San Antonio, and has presented at prestigious conferences such as the University Health Trauma Informed Care Institute, the National Cross-Cultural Counseling and Education Conference, and Duke University’s John Hope Franklin Humanities Institute.
Bilingual in Japanese and English, Dr. Finley possesses a deep understanding of the cultural, economic, and sociopolitical forces that impact individuals and organizations. Her degrees from the University of Hawai’i and St. Mary’s University, combined with her diverse background in political science and clinical mental health counseling, provide her with a unique perspective. At EPC, Dr. Finley is dedicated to helping you achieve not only external success, but also inner peace and well-being, empowering you to lead a more fulfilling and impactful life.
Denise Flores Turton, MA, LPC.
My past career experiences, personal relationships, and my journey as a parent have beautifully shaped my beliefs about counseling. Counseling marks my second career. I’ve had the privilege of spending over 15 years in various professional roles that have supported multiple healthcare fields, where I’ve witnessed firsthand how unmet psychological needs or environmental factors can impact an individual in profound ways. As an adoptive mom of four amazing kids, I feel deeply passionate about supporting the adoption triad. I’m dedicated to exploring issues such as identity development, processing trauma, addressing PTSD, coping with abuse, navigating grief and loss, tackling behavioral disorders, and working through challenges like anxiety, depression, addiction, and healing from attachment issues.
I hope to offer a fresh perspective with an integrated therapeutic approach that is affirming to the intercultural needs of children, individuals, families, relationships, and community organizations.
I specialize in trauma-focused, mindfulness-based, and strength-based therapy, empowering clients to develop self-awareness, emotional growth, and practical coping strategies for long-term well-being in a safe and validating environment.
My scope of practice incorporates researched treatment approaches including Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Psychoanalytic Therapy, Family Systems Therapy, and Play Therapy; I am also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR).
My education background includes a Bachelor of Arts in Biology in 1997, followed by a Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling in 2022—both from St. Mary’s University—where I am currently pursuing a Doctorate in Counseling Education and Supervision.

Rebecca Ramirez, LPC – Associate.
Supervised by Tritia M. Finley, PhD, LPC-S, NCC
Rebecca is passionate about advocating for those who may not have a voice. She has a strong interest in mental health policy and believes that everyone has the right to accessible mental health care. Her 8 years of experience as a teacher and school counselor across Texas have given her a therapeutic perspective that is unique, multicultural, and diverse. No matter who you are or where you come from, Rebecca is committed to meeting you where you are.
Rebecca graduated from Texas A&M University in College Station and began her career as an educator in 2017, teaching high school English literature in her hometown of Laredo, Texas. Rebecca is a proud, Latina woman and was overjoyed to serve her own community as she began her career. Rebecca noticed the rapport she built with her students seeking comfort, advice and mentorship. This experience motivated her to obtain her graduate degree in school counseling, with the hope of one day advocating for and serving students.
In 2020, Rebecca moved to Dallas, Texas, where she was an elementary and middle school counselor for 3 years. Thereafter, she was given the opportunity to take a high school counseling job in Austin, TX.
Rebecca noticed gaps in mental health care during her time as a school counselor and developed a strong desire to seek a career outside of education, where she felt she could maximize her impact. As a result, Rebecca currently does state-level work for suicide prevention and is a part-time LPC Associate.
Rebecca has worked extensively with adolescents and teens, counseling on challenges such as anxiety, depression, peer issues and low self-esteem. She has extensive knowledge regarding suicide ideation and prevention. She has also worked with high-achieving students and athletes, who are under immense pressure and stress. She has experience with parent coaching and involving them in the therapeutic process. Her therapeutic approaches are cognitive behavioral (CBT), existentialism and solution-focused centered.
Rebecca is committed to helping you achieve harmony and peace. She looks forward to assisting you in your transformation towards well-being.
