Abigail Csengery, LPC-Associate.

Supervised by Tritia Finley, Ph.D., LPC-S, NCC

Abigail Csengery is thrilled to be a part of the dynamic Elite Performance Counseling team. Her story begins in Houston, Texas, where, as a young girl, she found herself enchanted by the world of tennis. This passion wasn’t just a hobby; it shaped her early years, taking her to the top 20 in Texas and the top 150 nationally.

Her journey was filled with the echo of tennis balls and the thrill of victory.
Abigail’s adventure continued at St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, where she embraced the dual identity of a Psychology student and NCAA Division II tennis player. This period of her life was like a masterclass in balancing acts – acing psychology theories by day and perfecting backhands by night.

However, it wasn’t all smooth sailing. The world of competitive sports, as exhilarating as it is, brought with it its own set of challenges. Abigail faced the formidable opponents of performance anxiety and burnout, not on the court but within. This was a turning point for her. Therapy, often overlooked in the sports world, became her sanctuary. It taught her invaluable lessons in mental resilience, transforming her approach to tennis and life.

Fast forward through an enriching journey of self-discovery, Abigail earned her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Her role as a tennis coach at St. Mary’s allowed her to share these insights, bridging the gap between mental wellness and athletic performance.

Today, as a Licensed Professional Counselor-Associate under the supervision of Tritia M. Finley, Ph.D., LPC-S, NCC, Abigail stands ready to share her insights with others. Whether you’re an athlete grappling with the pressures of performance, a high achiever striving for balance, or anyone in between, she is here to help navigate these challenges. Her mission is to empower clients, enhance their mental game, and witness their transformation into the best version of themselves.

Testimonials.
Melissa

Wow Tritia! I am just speechless! What you did yesterday was the most healing and powerful session I could ever imagine. I literally didn’t see that coming or think something like that was deep inside of me. You literally cut through the bullshit and honed in on it like a Navy Seal! I felt “ok” before and knew something was hiding down there but I just couldn’t find it and it was this darkness that I couldn’t shake off. It was POWERFUL!

Mother of Teenage Son

My son has been doing so well since working with you. I don't know what it is but he has a new focus on what he wants to do and has immensely improved his mindset. He hasn't lost a singles tournament since we last saw you!
